A former public school teacher, Amy Chapman is now in her fifteenth year of parish ministry, ten of which were spent at a Jesuit parish outside of Boston. An innovative leader in faith formation and a passionate advocate for retreat ministry, she has also worked with Jesuit communities in West Kingston, Jamaica and Tacna, Peru. A New Jersey native, Amy holds degrees in history and secondary education, developmental psychology, and religious education, all from Boston College. She is working on her doctoral dissertation in educational psychology and educational technology at Michigan State University, where she researches civic education and identity development in adolescence and the ways in which social media can be used within educational contexts in ways that promote social justice.
