David de la Fuente

I am a Ph.D. candidate in systematic theology at Fordham University and a retreat minister. I previously worked as a patient advocate for a head and neck cancer practice. I recently completed the CLA program (Cohort 10 NYC) and made the 19th Annotation Spiritual Exercises in 2013-14. I specialize in the theology of the Holy Spirit, and also focus on ecclesiology, medicine and religion, and religion and racial justice. My spirituality is both Ignatian and "charismatic"—I was deeply formed by a Filipino Charismatic prayer community, but my vision is to recognize the various ways that people can embrace life in the Spirit by translating the graces of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal for the church catholic. Incidentally, that prayer group was founded by a Filipino Jesuit. I particularly enjoy working with college and young adult professional communities. My wife and I live in the Bronx. My hobbies include playing guitar, running, and cooking.
